Focus on ELT is an online international scientific journal devoted to the dissemination of information concerning English language teaching and learning. The journal is dedicated to publishing quality articles that improve teaching and learning in the field of English language teaching.
The journal is published online-only biannually. FELT publishes fully refereed high-quality original research articles and studies for the benefit of teachers and researchers in the field of English Language Teaching.
All submissions undergo initial editorial screening for relevance to the journal’s scope, originality, methodological quality, and ethical compliance. Research manuscripts selected for external review are evaluated by at least two independent reviewers through double-anonymous peer review.
Manuscripts are screened for text similarity using iThenticate. Similarity reports are assessed by the editorial team in context. Concerns identified before publication may lead to requests for clarification, revision, or rejection. Concerns about published articles are handled through corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions, as appropriate. Focus on ELT Journal provides immediate open access to its articles without registration or access charges. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication. Unless otherwise stated on an individual article, articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). This license permits non-commercial sharing with appropriate attribution. Distribution of adapted material requires additional permission from the copyright holder.
There is no charge for publication in FELT for the authors; Moreover, there are no submission charges or page charges. All interested readers can also read, download, and/or print open access articles at no cost.

Our publication calendar in 2024 was enriched with two special issues alongside our regular issues, bringing a diverse array of topics and insights into English Language Teaching.
In 2025, Focus on ELT Journal is now accepting original articles and book reviews for our regular issue to appear in December 2025.
We welcome submissions dealing with issues about English Language Teaching and Learning for our next issues. The scope of the journal includes, but not limited to, the following subjects: teaching English as a foreign or second language, English language teacher training and education; theory and practice in English language teaching and learning; English language teaching materials; and innovative instructional designs in English language teaching. Submitted articles should focus on directly an aspect related to English language teaching/learning. In any submitted article where English language teaching and learning is not the ultimate aim or touches on less significant aspects of it, it will not be considered.
