Policies of the Journal regarding Review, Plagiarism, Open Access and Copyright
Focus on ELT Journal (FELT) adopts a double-blind peer review policy in the revision process. All original manuscripts submitted to the journal have gone through an initial review process by the editors in terms of their quality, originality and its scope and checked for plagiarism. This initial process takes two weeks at most. Manuscripts evaluated as appropriate after this process are then sent to two reviewers. Based on the reports of the reviewers, editors reach minor, major, resubmit, accept as is or reject decisions. If necessary, editors may send the manuscript to other reviewers for further review.
Plagiarism is one of the most major obstacles preventing the development of science all around the world. To avoid plagiarism, all the manuscripts submitted to our journal are checked with a plagiarism checker software (namely ithenticate) 1) before they are sent to the reviewers and 2) if accepted before publishing.
Focus on ELT Journal (FELT) believes that prevention of plagiarism starts with a quality review process. We also expect our reviewers to contribute to this process with their strict reviews. However, authors of the published articles should be aware that all the responsibility regarding plagiarism solely belongs to them. If any issue arises after publication of an article regarding plagiarism, authors are asked for clarification about the issue. The editors then decide whether to retract the article from the journal or keep it as is. If the editors decide for the retraction of the article in question, a warning notice is put to the journal regarding the retracted article.
